Write a few lines. Droplet writes back.

For days a whole journal is too much. Reflections are free on every iPhone, and there is no account to make.

No sign-up, no email, no password. Open it and write.

Try it here. Nothing you type leaves this page.

How it works

Three small moments, whenever you like

  1. Write

A few words is plenty. There's a prompt if you'd like one.

  2. Read

A short reflection comes straight back: what it noticed, a gentle suggestion and a kind word.

  3. Let it fall

Your words become a droplet in your ocean, tinted by the day's mood.

Real replies

What comes back, free and with Plus

Real replies to one entry, unedited. Generated 2 October 2026. They're gentle suggestions, not medical advice.

The entry
Nothing happened today and I still feel like this, and that's the bit I keep getting stuck on. If something had happened I'd have something to point at. Instead it's the same low hum that was there yesterday and the day before. I've written almost this exact entry before. I'll read it back in a week and it'll say the same thing.

Free

From this entry alone. Nothing about your other days is sent.

Today's droplet Sad

Reflection

The stuckness is real: the feeling stays the same whether the day is full or empty, and that sameness is what wears you down.

Gentle suggestion

Write one honest line about what this low hum actually feels like in your body, not your head.

Why this helps

Writing about both what happened and how it felt can feel harder at first, and has been linked to fewer doctor visits in the months after.
Pennebaker & Beall (1986), Journal of Abnormal Psychology

Naming the pattern out loud is a way of facing it, not hiding from it.

Plus

The same model, with a summary of your last seven days and your tide notes in view.

Today's droplet Tired

Reflection

The worry is not about today, it is about the sameness, and that sameness is what makes it feel endless.

Gentle suggestion

Write one sentence tonight about what the hum actually feels like, without judging it.

Why this helps

Writing about both what happened and how it felt can feel harder at first, and has been linked to fewer doctor visits in the months after.
Pennebaker & Beall (1986), Journal of Abnormal Psychology

You spotted the loop and named it, which is the hard part.

Read a real weekly tide read

Once a week, Plus looks back over your week. This is its read of the week before that entry, 21 to 27 September.

The week began with a heavy weight. You spent much of Tuesday evening going over a conversation with your manager, and that worry stayed with you into the morning of Wednesday. Things shifted on Friday when a run after work brought a period of quiet to your head. Saturday was more settled with groceries, washing, and an early night. There is a steady rhythm in the routine of the end of the week.

  • The quiet head on Friday came the same day as a run after work.
  • Tuesday and Wednesday both involved the same worry.

The depths

Your ocean deepens as you go

One droplet for each day you write, with no target and no deadline. Every depth after the first earns a new water: a place your ocean can become, with its own colours and its own swell.

  1. 1 droplet:

    Puddle

Your first droplet. Every ocean starts here.

    Starts in Clear Lagoon
  2. 7 droplets:

    Pond

A week of writing, whenever it happens.

    Earns Glacier Melt
  3. 21 droplets:

    Lagoon

Often enough for your moods to show a pattern.

    Earns Coral Shallows
  4. 50 droplets:

    Bay

The water has some real depth now.

    Earns Kelp Forest
  5. 100 droplets:

    Sea

A hundred days you made a little room for yourself.

    Earns Moonlit Bay
  6. 200 droplets:

    Ocean

Look back and you may find days you'd forgotten.

    Earns Bioluminescent
  7. 365 droplets:

    Trench

A full ocean. Name it, then begin a new one. Your waters come with you.

    Earns The Trench

Waters

Seven waters: one to start, six to earn

Clear Lagoon is yours from the first droplet. The other six are earned by writing, never sold.

Preview of the water: Clear LagoonWhere every ocean starts

Waters

The tide goes out. It never drains.

No streaks. Miss a week or a season, and your ocean is as deep as you left it.

Moods

Each day takes the colour of its mood

Over time, your Days calendar becomes a picture of how things have been.

  • Bright joyful, grateful, hopeful
  • Calm peaceful, content
  • Reflective curious, thoughtful, tired
  • Heavy stressed, anxious, sad
  • Tender bittersweet, mixed

Every mood is named in words too, so colour is never the only clue.

The small things

Write from anywhere. Look back any time.

  • Siri and widgets

Say "Add to Droplet" to Siri, or write from your Home Screen.

  • Days

Every day you've written, as a calendar of tinted droplets.

  • Help, always in the app

Crisis helplines are always in the app, not only when Droplet thinks you need them.

    Helplines, on our support page
  • All of it yours

Everything you've written stays free to read, however far back.

Privacy

There's no account to make, and Droplet doesn't store or log your writing

Free
Your writing goes to be reflected on, and comes straight back. No sign-up, no email, no password.
Plus
The same, plus what Droplet remembers of your week, so the reflection knows you.
Apple Health
Off unless you turn it on. Then the weekly read sends labels, never numbers.

Check it yourself: open Droplet and start writing. There's nothing to sign up for, at either tier.

Exactly what's sent, and what happens to it

Every reflection

  • Your entry and your droplet are saved on your iPhone before anything is sent, so writing works whether or not a reflection can be written.
  • Droplet asks before the first one, and names where it goes. If you say no, everything else carries on and no reflection is written.
  • Each reflection sends today's writing (long entries are shortened), when you wrote it, your reflection style, the ideas recent reflections suggested and the last one you rated, and your language, region and time zone.
  • If the safety check on your iPhone flags what you wrote today, nothing is sent, and the app shows its own help.
  • A free reflection also sends an App Attest key id and a signature, Apple's proof that it came from the real app. The key belongs to this install, not to you.

What Plus adds

  • Your App Store receipt, so the server can confirm you subscribe.
  • With Plus reflections on: a one-line summary and mood for each of your last seven days, your tide notes, a few older days like today, short lines from past weeks and months, and lines you marked not true.
  • The weekly tide read sends the week's summaries and moods, your tide notes and style, lines you marked not true and whether the safety check flagged anything. The monthly read does the same for the month.
  • Tide notes are short lines Plus writes to remember what matters to you, like "sleeping badly since the move". Everything Plus remembers is kept on your iPhone, and "What was last sent" in Settings shows every part of the last request.

Where it goes

  • To Droplet's own server, and from there to Cloudflare, which runs the AI model that writes your reflection. In the app, that AI is called Droplet.
  • Droplet doesn't store or log what you send for a reflection. Its one log line records the route, whether it worked, how long it took and, if the server itself failed, the type of error.
  • Cloudflare's terms say it doesn't use what you send to train AI models (Cloudflare's page). It makes no promise about how long it keeps it, and it may process it outside New Zealand. Checked 1 October 2026.
  • For a free install, or any install that opens its journey (which loads the round to vote on) or sends feedback, the server keeps the App Attest key's public half and a counter, with no expiry, to check each request is new. Daily request counts are kept under a one-way hash and deleted at midnight UTC.
  • A vote is kept until its round closes, then only the totals. Feedback is kept for 12 months, with nothing that identifies you or your iPhone beyond what you write. Cloudflare's database can restore deleted votes and feedback for up to 30 days.
  • There's no account, so nothing sent carries your name, your email or an Apple Account login. The Plus receipt is Apple's signed purchase record, which carries a transaction id and the store's country or region.

Apple Health

  • Once a week, and again whenever that week's summaries change, if you've turned it on, the tide read sends whether each day's sleep, steps and heart rate variability were lower, usual or higher than your own usual, and whether you had mindful minutes. The numbers never leave your iPhone, and reflections never carry Health.
  • Droplet only reads from Apple Health. It never writes to it.

Questions

Questions people ask

Is Droplet therapy?

No. Droplet is a journal that writes back. It can help you notice things, but it isn't a substitute for care from a professional. If you're struggling, please talk to someone. In New Zealand you can call or text 1737 any time. Outside New Zealand, findahelpline.com lists free helplines in 175+ countries.

What happens if I miss a day?

Nothing drains. The tide goes out, and your ocean waits at the same depth for whenever you come back.

Does my writing leave my iPhone?

Yes, to be reflected on. What you write goes to Droplet's server and on to Cloudflare, which runs the AI model that writes the reply, and the reply comes straight back. Droplet doesn't store or log your writing, and there's no account for it to be attached to. Droplet asks before the first reflection and you can say no. The Privacy section sets out exactly what is sent.

Do I need a new iPhone, or an account?

Neither. Reflections are free on any iPhone that runs Droplet, which means iOS 26 or later, and there is nothing to sign up for at either tier. You need to be online for a reflection; your entry and your droplet are saved first either way.

How much do I need to write?

As much as you like. One line fills the day's droplet just as well as a page.

What does Plus remember?

A one-line summary of each of your last seven days, your tide notes (short lines Plus writes to remember what matters to you), a few older days like today and short lines from past weeks and months. All of it is kept on your iPhone and sent with each Plus reflection, and "What was last sent" in Settings shows every part of the last one.

Can I cancel Plus?

Any time, in your App Store settings. You keep everything you've written, your ocean and your waters.

Start with one droplet

It's free. After seven days of writing, your first new water, Glacier Melt, arrives.
