Writing about Droplet? Everything you need should be here. For anything else, email hello@writedroplet.com.

In one line

Droplet is a calm journal for iPhone: write a few lines, get a gentle reflection straight away, and fill an ocean one day at a time.

In a paragraph

Droplet turns journaling into a small daily ritual. Tap the droplet, write as much or as little as you like, and a short reflection comes back straight away. Each day you write adds one droplet to your ocean, which deepens from Puddle to Trench over 365 days and unlocks new waters along the way. There are no streaks: miss a day and the tide goes out, but the water never drains. Reflections are free on every iPhone that runs Droplet, with no account to make. Droplet Plus uses the same voice but remembers: it draws on your recent days, names the technique behind what it suggests and where that comes from, and adds a weekly read of how the week went.

Why it is built the way it is

Droplet runs on its own inference stack rather than a vendor's assistant. The app checks every entry on the iPhone before anything is sent, a second model checks it on the server alongside the reflection, and the helplines it can show are written into the app rather than generated, so the app cannot invent a wrong number. The memory that makes Plus work lives on the iPhone: each request carries a short, dated picture of the week, and the server keeps none of your writing between requests. There is no account at any tier, including the paid one, which makes Droplet the only AI journal that reflects on your writing without asking you to sign up first.

On the models

Reflections are written by DeepSeek V4 Flash, or by Gemma 4 if DeepSeek fails to answer, and the server's safety check and the weekly and monthly reads by Gemma 4: openly licensed models that Cloudflare runs on its own network. In the app, the AI is called Droplet. Nothing is sent to DeepSeek or to Google. The models were chosen by a blind evaluation against a labelled crisis set and a voice rubric, not by reputation; the method and the numbers are available on request.
